Dear Colleagues,

The Department of Geological Sciences in the Jackson School of Geosciences
at UT Austin is seeking a dynamic faculty member at the tenure-track
Assistant Professor level in the broad field of Lithosphere Dynamics. We
seek a researcher-educator who will complement existing strengths in
tectonics and structural geology, petrology and geochemistry, and
geophysics. Individuals who bridge any or all of these disciplines are
encouraged to apply. Specific areas of interest include (but are not
limited to): igneous and metamorphic processes in Earth’s crust and
lithospheric mantle; active tectonics and the interplay between surface
processes, tectonics, and climate; experimental rock mechanics and its
extrapolation to transient and long-term crustal and mantle deformation;
and seismology and geodesy applied to understanding the structure and
dynamics of the lithosphere.

A full description of the position and instructions as to how to apply are
provided in the attached flier or at this link:
https://apply.interfolio.com/39559. Questions about the search can be sent

Cheers and thanks,
Whitney Behr
