ADD International: chair of trustees

ADD International is a disability rights organisation with 30 years of experience in supporting disability activists in Africa and Asia to bring about social change.

Working as an ally of the global disability movement, we tackle discrimination and fight for independence, equality and opportunity for disabled people living in poverty in Africa and Asia. With about 100 staff across the world, we are based in the UK, and have programmes in Bangladesh, Cambodia, Uganda, Tanzania and Sudan.

We’re looking for an exceptional person to lead a high performing Board of Trustees and drive their strategic objectives.

You may live in the UK or abroad, but you must be a disabled person, or have extensive knowledge of disability and associated issues; you should be committed to ending discrimination against disabled people, especially those living in poverty and to securing their rights, respect and well-being.

An effective leader, you’ll enable the international Board to sustain a successful long-term strategy by chairing Board meetings and ensuring it agrees annual objectives and plans for ADD International and plays its part in their delivery. You’ll promote good relations with key stakeholders and partners and be an effective ambassador and spokesperson for ADD International.

Please go to www.addinternational.org/chair2016 for more information.

Closing date for applications 18 November 2016. Chair to be appointed in time for the board meeting in May 2017.
