The salary spine point is subject to external funding conditions, which will limit the starting point of the salary to a maximum of £32,958 p.a.

You will work with Professor David Wall, in the Crime Technology, Security and Justice Research Unit of the Centre for Criminal Justice Studies, School of Law, on the Leeds contribution to an interdisciplinary project which looks at Cybercrime in the Cloud and its implications for policing and regulation. This research is part of the broader EPSRC/ ESRC funded CRITiCal Project (Combatting Criminals in the Cloud), which is being carried out with Newcastle and Durham Universities.

 

With an academic interest in crime and technology, and proven research experience, you will work with and support Professor Wall on the project by conducting research, establishing research collaborations, organising events and engaging with academic, practitioner and policy communities and contributing to project outputs and other deliverables.

 

You will have a sound grasp of crime and technology studies, excellent analytical and writing skills, and skills in quantitative and qualitative research. The ability to work both alone and also as part of a team are essential, along with strong organisational skills and the ability to work on a variety of tasks to set deadlines. The post will involve some travel and stays away from home, for example to undertake fieldwork or attend national or international conferences.
