Dear colleagues,
some of you will have seen the editorial reporting on funding issues
for the SESAME synchrotron in Jordan in the last issue of Nature.
Apparently, there is not enough money to even built a cafeteria
where scientists could meet and exchange ideas:

The
Sharing Knowledge Foundation in Geneva is trying to raise enough
funds to fill this gap. Realizing that this is one of the rare
opportunities where a small contribution can make a big difference
in a more and more crazy world, I contacted their office asking if
it were possible for an individual to support their initiative. This
turned out to be indeed possible and I am attaching the required
information to this message - I am sure there are more protein
crystallographers and regular synchrotron users among us who would
like to participate as well.
Best regards,
Wulf
