Reminder Contemporary South Asian visual constructions of Self and Nation, Thursday 1 December, 15.30 - 16:30, S1 Seminar Room, Alison Richard Building. Abstract: From post-Independence home movies and art films to propaganda productions and Bollywood cinema, this lecture will propose an integrated approach of the visual literacy that defines as well as challenges current interpretations of South Asian identity and society. This talk is part of the Visual rhetoric and Modern South Asian history series (Michaelmas 2016) that offers practical and theoretical approaches to old and new media literacies required when exploring the visual dimension of modern South Asian history.
