Agri-Food Study Group with Industry http://www.esgi.org.uk/
16 - 18 January 2017
Institute for Mathematical Innovation (IMI), University of Bath

In collaboration with the Knowledge Transfer Network, IMI is pleased to host the Agri-Food Mathematical Science Study Group with Industry at the University of Bath, from 16-18 January 2017.

The Agri-food industry is a rich source of interesting problems, many of which have significant mathematical, statistical, and numerical challenges and which could lead to interesting research projects with high impact.
The workshop at present will comprise three such problems (although it is possible that more will be added nearer to the date). The format will be that the problems will be presented at the start of the workshop,
and you will then be invited to work in groups on the different problems.

Brief Problem Descriptions:
- Optimising the Design of Polythene Hydroponic Beds<http://www.esgi.org.uk/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/PHYTOPONICS.pdf> – Phytoponics Ltd
- Optimising Sugar Beet Harvest<http://www.esgi.org.uk/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/REZATEC.pdf> – Rezatec Ltd
- Developing a ‘’Full Value Pig’’ Model from Historical Data<http://www.esgi.org.uk/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/INNOVENT.pdf> – Innovent Technology

For further information, and to register please see http://www.esgi.org.uk/. Registration closes on 12 December 2016.

Looking forward to meeting you in Bath.

Best wishes,
Jo, on behalf of the organising committee
