Dear Ann Marie, You said initially you did not have good compliance but now you do. Was there anything in particular you did to improve compliance? Each have their own login etc. Works really well for the most part. If , like me, you are a lone POCTC I would recommend that you go down this route. I couldn't imagine processing the paper returns every month. The only downside is monitoring compliance. I have only recently managed to develop a way to find non-returners as WEQAS exports aren't that useful for identifying when a meter has been taken out of action due to failure (I have non connected meters) etc. I have escalated this issue within the Trust using clinical audit group. Very useful if you have one. WEQAS expect us to follow up non returners. I have wards that have never returned a result for a long time and WEQAS have not done anything about it. We've also amended the POCT Policy to clearly define the triggers for non-compliance and escalation to the POCT Committee i.e. <75% annual return rate or 2 consecutive poor performances/ NR's. Initially we had lots of incident reports to do but now we have really good compliance. There are 2 choices as I see it: 1. Hassle them about it by phoning etc - this is what we currently do 2. Leave them to have a non-return, in which case how do WEQAS view this if it happens repeatedly for the same area? We have always kept ours in case this is something that CPA/UKAS would look at. It's just that our storage space is quickly running out and I would really like to throw them away. For those of you that have been through an inspection is this something that is looked at for evidence of who has performed the EQA test?
