Norbert

You have done us a service!

Those pictures convince me that there is no longer any reason to doubt
that Julia's crown is human.

Dear List,

With fascination I have followed the discussion in reaction to Julia's
Friday Tooth Quiz and learned new things. What a great forum the list
is!

Concerning the pointy cusps, these are quite normal for unfinished
crowns of human deciduous molars. I have uploaded some pictures to
ZooBook to illustrate this (http://zooarchaeology.ning.com/photo [1]).
As Richard pointed out, the lack of fissures in Julia's tooth can be
expected in crowns that are still being formed.

Best,

Norbert
