Hello Walking Artists Network, I'm so pleased to have found this site, it looks really interesting!

We are running an audio walk next Saturday 8th October, from Waterloo to Euston, and I thought some of you might be interested in details (below). Thanks and I look forward to hearing about your projects. Best wishes, Emma

B A R D O - an experiential audio walk

Saturday 8th October 2016.  3.15pm – 6pm.

Starting point: Feminist Library, 5 Westminster Bridge Road, SE1 7XW

Finishing point: Camden People’s Theatre, 58-60 Hampstead Rd, London NW1 2PY. Approximately 2.7 miles.

Programmed for Calm Down, Dear 2016, a festival of innovative feminist theatre.

Join a semi-participatory audio walk to rediscover the lost words of women. Guided by a Librarian and an Open Book we will make our way along the foreshore of the Thames, into the romance of Theatreland, then the history of Bloomsbury. Surprises, uncertainties, music and stories trace women's London like never before.

What is it to walk a line of uncertainty, to experience a Bardo?

Bardo is a Tibetan word that depicts being in a realm of transition. Often it is assumed to be undesirable; full of uncertainty and unrest, suspended between life and death. But this realm can fuel creativity. It can overturn the old and summon the new. As the past is ruptured, in this in-between state the previously unimagined can emerge.

Please note, walkers need a smart phone and headphones.

The walk itself takes approx 1hour and 30 minutes and is timed for our arrival into the theatre space where there will be a short performance. We will be walking together at an average walking pace. Please wear appropriate footwear.

Devised by Feminist Library’s inaugural Writer in Residence, Caroline Smith, in partnership with Feminist Library, The Beth Centre and Camden People’s Theatre.

Tickets available from Camden People’s Theatre Box Office: 020 7419 4841, website: https://www.cptheatre.co.uk/production/b-a-r-d-o/, priced £5/£7.

Transport: The Feminist Library is a few minutes walk from either Waterloo or Elephant & Castle tube and rail stations. Camden People's Theatre is a few minutes walk from either Euston, Warren Street or Kings Cross.
