CFP: Tourism & Heritage at the SfAA Meetings

Extended Deadline: October 31, 2016

The Society for Applied Anthropology (SfAA) welcomes submissions for paper
and poster abstracts on topics related to tourism and heritage for the SfAA
Annual Meetings to be held March 28 - April 1, 2017 in Santa Fe, NM. We
also welcome organized paper sessions, roundtables, workshops, and panel
discussions.

The main theme of the 2017 SfAA Meetings is “Trails, Traditions, and New
Directions” (for more info on the theme, visit
www.sfaa.net/annual-meeting/theme). The program will be organized into
thematic clusters, including a “Tourism and Heritage” cluster. Paper and
poster topics should relate to tourism and/or heritage, broadly defined (e.g.,
heritage preservation, ecotourism, archaeology and tourism, cultural
resource management). Topics of special interest to the residents of the
greater Southwest are especially encouraged.

*Notice to Students:* Students are encouraged to submit abstracts for the
Valene Smith Tourism Poster Competition. (Competition info:
www.sfaa.net/about/prizes/student-awards/valene-smith)

The final deadline for the submission of session abstracts and individual
paper and poster abstracts is *OCTOBER 31st*. More information on the
Meetings, as well as instructions for registration and the submission of
