A message from Ruth Kaufman, President of the OR Society.

The "STEM for Britain" competition, sponsored by bodies including the Council for Mathematical Sciences (of which the ORS is a member) invites early career researchers to submit posters aimed at communicating their work to a lay audience. The best 150 or so posters will be exhibited in the House of Commons in March next year, as part of British Science Week, with prestigious awards for the ultimate winners. It would be splendid to have some O.R. work presented to MPs and the wider scientific community. So if you are an early careers researcher, do consider submitting your poster; and if you are not eligible yourself, please share this information and urge your early careers colleagues to get involved. The closing date for entries is 5 December 2016. Full details can be found here: http://www.stemforbritain.org.uk/

Please note that all nationalities are welcome to apply, but you need to be working in the UK.
