Members of this list may be interested in this year's annual lecture of the American Society for Information Science and Technology, which will be held for the first time on UK soil -- at Edinburgh Napier University on 30 November. I will be giving the lecture, and my title is, 'What, if anything, makes knowledge an improvement over information?' Admission is free but you need to register.
