medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture
Can anyone tell me the dates of Trinity Sunday in 1330 and 1376? This came up in a seminar last night: the Black Prince was born on 15 June 1330 and died on 5 June 1376. A bishop (preaching at his funeral?) explained his devotion to the Trinity by claiming that he was born on Trinity Sunday and died on Trinity Sunday (yes, I see the flaw in the logic!) Is either part of the statement true?
After that, we only need to explain his connection to Thomas Becket...
