WANTED: TWO BRIGHT SPARKS

 

Livingmaps Review is looking for an editor for the ‘Lines of Desire’ section of the journal. This section  is devoted to exploring imaginative cartography, and the cartographic imaginary, in the work of artists, writers, mapmakers , scenographers and walkers..

The editor has considerable scope in developing this part of the journal in a way that reflects her or his interests. While some of  contributions will be generated through LivingMaps seminars and other events, the editor is expected to be proactive in commissioning new work.  Contribution to this section  can take many forms, from short illustrated pieces documenting  a piece of work,  to poems and short stories, and interviews.

The journal is produced entirely on line  using a publishing programme and comes out twice a year. Although most of the editorial work is done virtually, the editor would be expected to attend  editorial meetings in London from time to time   You will be part of  a friendly and enthusiastic editorial team . Although the position is not paid , it entitles you to free admission to all Livingmaps events. It would be of interest to someone with  some previous experience of on line publishing  as well as a general interest in the  field.

We are also looking for someone with IT skills to develop the social media aspect of both the journal and the Livingmaps Network  website.
