.......and some of us started planning our contingencies way back in April
but there is not much you can do against increases of over 30% when
combining actual increases and currency fluctuations.
I have one product which was £13295 for 2016 and looks likely to be £17461
for 2017, depending on rates when the bill is paid. it can't be cancelled
as it is year 2 of a 3 year deal. This is a 31.3% increase How does one
find the money? Cuts elsewhere is the only option.

To answer the original question   Do members of this list, especially the
librarians, feel that in our current economic climate 7% increases are
reasonable?
7% is way above general inflation and not reasonable at all but compared
with the 10 titles I was invoiced for today from a UK NOT an overseas
publisher, which all showed increases of over 26%, 7% would make me very
happy, well not happy but  I could cope with that.
