The Department of Germanic Studies in the School of Literatures, Languages, and Cultural Studies, Trinity College Dublin would like to invite expressions of interest from potential postdoctoral researchers who are considering applying to the Government of Ireland Postdoctoral Fellowship Scheme (GOIPD) 2017 and who wish to be mentored at Trinity.

Please be advised that the Research Council is currently finalising details for the 2017 GOIPD and for CAROLINE 'Collaborative Research Fellowships for a Responsive and Innovative Europe', MSCA (co-funded), 2017. Stretching from the eighteenth century to the contemporary and including the literatures, languages, and cultures of Germany, Austria, Switzerland, and eastern and central Europe, research interests in Germanic Studies at Trinity College Dublin encompass a broad range of periods, geographical territories, and disciplines. Our expertise lies in literary, theoretical, cultural and comparative studies, literary translation, the cultural history of science and technology, and intercultural communication.

Research areas in which Department members can act as mentor include, but are not restricted to:
