As a joint program between the SLOW FOOD University of Gastronomic Sciences in Pollenzo and the International University College (IUC) of Turin, an innovative 18-month Master of Research in FOOD, LAW AND FINANCE (FLF) ( http://www.iuctorino.it/studies/m-res/ ) will start next January 2017 (http://www.iuctorino.it/m-res-in-flf-deadlines-approaching/).

FLF is marked by the signature pluralism and inter-disciplinarity of the IUC approach, and by Slow Food’s long-standing concern for sustainable access to quality food. Under the direction of Carlo Petrini and Ugo Mattei, the project will be enriched by the teaching contribution of renown figures like Olivier De Schutter and Nora McKeon, whereas a number of promising young scholars from around the world will serve on the faculty of this truly international Master course.

The curriculum ( http://www.iuctorino.it/studies/m-res/curriculum/ ) triangulates law and finance with a solid understanding of the processes underpinning the provision of food, to unveil the tensions and trade-offs of the global production regime, while cultivating a pronounced sensitivity to the ecological dimension. The small size of the class (12 to 20 students each academic year) and the worldwide network of partners (universities, international organizations and third sector's representatives) will provide the students with a unique opportunity to be confronted with different perspectives, continuously engage with the theory and praxis behind the food systems, become part of a newgeneration of experts on food, law and finance.

Applications for the M.Res. program can be submitted via the University of Gastronomic Sciences portal ( http://www.unisg.it/assets/Modulo_Ammissione_Admission_Request_Form_2016.pdf ) and they will be accepted on a rolling basis until the final deadline of October 21, 2016, at 12 noon.
