Dear Colleague,

A reminder that the deadline for submissions for next year’s BSA conference is Friday 14 October 2016.  We very much hope you will want to contribute a paper to the Sociology, Psychoanalysis and the Psychosocial Study Group’s ‘grouping’ or  ’sub-stream’ which, as usual, will be in the ‘Frontiers’ stream of the conference.  Those of you have submitted abstracts before will know that the process is not without its challenges but the basic details are as follows:
  1. If you plan to give a conventional 20 minute paper (which the BSA calls an ‘oral presentation’) follow the guidance in ‘submission guidelines’ (also available under the submission guidelines button on the Submissions page).  If you are planning a panel of linked speakers, a workshop or other less conventional conference presentation, follow the guidance under the  ‘special event submission pack’ button on the same page.
  2. In either case, to be included in the study group’s sub-stream, make sure to indicate, when prompted, that you wish to your paper to be considered for the FRONTIERS stream AND at the top of the abstract itself write: <<I would like this abstract to be submitted to the SOCIOLOGY, PSYCHOANALYSIS AND THE PSYCHOSOCIAL grouping within the FRONTIERS stream.>> [Unfortunately, this uses up quite a few of your allocated 250 words]
  3. Finally, let Peter Redman ([log in to unmask]) know that you have submitted a paper and what the title is.  This will allow us to chase your abstract if it does not get sent to us by the BSA (which sometimes happens).

Some of the above information is available also available on the Submissions webpage under the streams link.

With our very best regards, as ever,

Peter and Julie
