Dear Ken,

Was pondering about your idea for a couple of days since I like it. Personally I would love to share, exchange, ask much more much more often.

But speaking for me as a relatively new member to this group it also feels a bit a bit odd sending mails too often to a bunch of certainly great people which -  for the most part I simply don’t know. Not a question of brevity but rather don’t want to be a nuisance to the majority of simply trying to stay on top of their inboxes. So, I limit it down to the minimum. Maybe others are doing the same.

I wonder if it is because of mail as a medium. Just words. No picture, no voice. No humans here. A solution could be a social media evolution of this group plus an online events series but then again not everyone loves Facebook, Twitter, Basecamp, Hangouts and all of these plus experience shows they only make sense if you have a case.

What’s our cases here? I have witnessed the following:

- information sharing (thanks!)
- discussion (great!)
- drum roll (nice :-)
- events (rarely near me :-(

So here’s my ideas:
1. Change approach: Hop on another solution - Basecamp for instance. I remember some of us used it already. Maybe someone can offer an account.
2. Same approach with a twist: Continue with this distribution list but sub structure into the use cases above so one (like me) would know people subscribed intentional - let’s say to the drum roll.

Just a couple of thoughts on a Friday afternoon shortly before picking up the kids in kindergarden. At this time of the day and before the weekend the craziness there is art.

Thanks for reading and considering -
Have a great weekend everyone
Dirk
