Interesting lectures GUILD OF NURSES Morning list

A number of OHNs have joined, or are considering joining, the Guild of Nurses which was established in May 2016. This is their website:
https://guildofnurses.co.uk

There are at least 5 OHNs who are already members, including myself and Grant Ciccone. Membership is restricted to those who are currently, or have been, registered nurses. I would urge all nurses on the JISC-list to consider joining. It offers excellent opportunities to attend evening lectures and social activities and opportunities to network with some of the movers and shakers in nursing and influence their view of OH nursing. For example, in addition to Rt Hon Anne Milton MP, there are two members within the House of Lords. I have already thought of issues of importance within Occupational Health that I would like to raise with Anne when I next see her. As Anne was previously a respiratory research nurse she will be aware of occupational sensitisers and occ asthma so there is some degree of overlap with OH nursing.

I attended a very interesting evening yesterday at Kings College London whereby there were two lectures by eminent nursing professors. Both were very engaging speakers – Prof Anne Marie Rafferty spoke of the history of nursing – fascinating. Prof Patricia Grocott, Professor of Nursing Technology spoke of innovations in the design of dressing material. The London School of Fashion were involved in that research – again a really interesting presentation.

If any of you are interested in joining please see this website
