medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture Can't help you directly, Bill, but your query once again raises the issue of what the scholarly community can do to encourage a more orderly roll-out of digitised texts. Multi-volume works seem to be particularly problematic: finding one volume is no guarantee that you'll find the others, usually because of grossly inadequate metadata. Is anyone in a position to influence some of our professional associations, the Medieval Academy, for example, to raise the concerns we frequently encounter at a higher level than we can do individually? Google Books is just chaotic for multi-volume scans, not to mention other quality-control issues. Since Google has been given privileged access to important libraries, it seems strange to me that these issues are apparently going unaddressed. Another example is that for years the digital version of *Acta Sanctorum* has been missing three volumes. The ur-version seems to have been done by the BN in Paris, and as far as I know there is no mechanism by which they, or another library, might be politely informed of the lacuna and urged to remedy it, except by personal letter (which seems to carry little or no weight). I think we need to find some more persuasive way to address the various quality-control issues which are affecting the future of digital scholarship, or at least some aspects of it. -- Paul On 12 September 2016 at 11:44, Frans van Liere <[log in to unmask]> wrote: > medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture > > Have you tried Gallica ? > > > > Frans van Liere > > > > Department of History > > Calvin College > > 1845 Knollcrest Circle, SE > > Grand Rapids, MI, 49546 > > > > *From:* medieval-religion - Scholarly discussions of medieval religious > culture [mailto:[log in to unmask]] *On Behalf Of *Bill > Schipper > *Sent:* Saturday, September 10, 2016 12:27 PM > *To:* [log in to unmask] > *Subject:* [M-R] Bede's Commentationes in sacras literas (1544-1545) > > > > medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture > > A question: > > > > I am looking for a digital copy of volume 3 of Bede’s *Commentationes in > sacras literas*, published by de Roigny in Paris in 1545.
