Do any colleagues with long memories of the Peter Wright 'Spycatcher' affair recall the events that led the CPBF to commission singer-songwriter Leon Rosselson (along with Billy Bragg and the Oyster Band) to write 'Ballad of a Spycatcher'?
My understanding is the CPBF were centrally involved in challenging the censorship of the book. I wondered if someone has back copies of the CPBF magazine that might contain some nuggets of information on the strategy.
I suspect only a few will recall this event but I'll be grateful if they can get in touch off-list at my institutional address: [log in to unmask]
Mystified colleagues can listen to the song courtesy of YouTube.
Thanks in anticipation of some help.
Best wishes, Simon Cross
