I have recruited in the past by going on to the software discussion forums
used by developers and inviting them to send in their portfolios. It's a
bit informal, but you get to reach people who are working off-grid and who
probably aren't registered with agencies.

Just wondering if anyone has any particular suggestions about where to
advertise developer jobs in the UK (we automatically advertise on the
jobs.ac.uk). We've struggled in the past to get quality applicants, and I'd
