Hi all,

Welcome to the September edition of the Talis Product and Services Update.

Product Update Summary
We would like to give you a progress update on some of our key product development themes; click here to get remind yourself of the Talis key development focus.

  • Primo Explore
The August release of Primo included an interface change to Primo Explore. We have been working on the deep links and bookmarking ruleset with a few Universities keen to switch over at the start of the European Academic Year. We are pleased with the results so far, and are currently fine tuning the ruleset further with the examples sent from the early adopters. Please raise a support ticket when you have an instance available in order for us to review along with your proposed go live date.
  • New Reading List Student User Experience
This summer, we have been working with several development customers towards testing the new student list experience live with students during the first semester in the UK. This will be on an opt in basis so students on selected courses can switch between the new interface and the existing interface.
  • Management Information - Project Update
In July, we began a discovery project working with a small group of customers around management information (MIS) and data analysis. Using a simple one-size-fits-all dashboard as a means to get the conversation started, we learnt that whilst our pilot customer’s needs could often be met from the existing report data, each customer needed either some additional information or tooling/knowledge to help them make the most of it. We also saw subtle differences in the goals people had with this data, and it’s presentation and consumption.

We’ve now begun scoping the next phase, where we will work one-on-one with each pilot customer to more deeply analyse their goals, and explore building bespoke reports to see where these needs converge or diverge. We’ll be running this over the coming three months, and will keep the community updated on progress.
