Cross-site Part-time (0.56wte) Assistant Librarian working Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays 9.15am - 4.45pm (base will be the Sally Howell Library in Epsom) 

Salary: Band 5 -  £25,427 to £32,731 pro-rata (dependent on experience)

We are looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated individual to join us at the Epsom and St Helier University Hospitals NHS Trust Library and Information Services, providing services to clinical and non-clinical NHS staff and students in the southwest London and northeast Surrey.

You will assist in the delivery of high quality customer-focused service, which supports learning, research and clinical activities within the hospital and to other organisations served by the library service. You will participate in front-line services and administrative duties. You will also lead on the implementation and delivery of an embedded/clinical library service to clinical departments. You will assist the Library Services Manager and Deputy Head of Library Services with providing literature searches and giving one to one and small group training sessions. You will support and supervise the Library Assistants with assisting users with directional and initial information enquiries and providing guidance on using electronic information resources and library materials. You will also catalogue newly purchased items ensuring that local cataloguing guidelines are adhered to. 

You will need to be a qualified librarian with a good level of computer literacy and experience of cataloguing. You will have experience of answering standard queries from users and be used to working as a member of a team, providing support, assistance, and cover where needed. An ability to work independently, taking responsibility for your own work load will also be required.

It is a permanent job, working Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays 9.15am - 4.45pm
