RICS Geomatics Evening Lectures 2016-17 sessions

 

It’s that time of year again when RICS starts its annual geo lectures and do put the dates below in your diaries. Lectures are popular so do book a place as soon as can.

Chartered surveyors have an established role as experts dealing with the enjoyment of natural light in the built environment, so it is important to be aware of newly-published Rights of Light best practice guidance. This evening lecture will focus on new addition to the 2nd edition. The new second edition has been fully updated with recent case law and industry best practice with an expanded section of the intricacies of Right of Light spatial measurement (3D modelling), method of assessment (Waldram diagrams), "loss" evaluation and compensation. This second edition also contains a new appendix explaining Rights of Light and trees. Expanded sections on appropriate procedures, legal issues, research, instructions, insurance and alternative dispute resolution help strengthen this essential best practice guidance note and bring it into line with other dispute related guidance titles, such as Daylighting and Sunlighting, 1st edition (2011), Boundaries 3rd 2014 and Party Walls 6th 2011. The new second edition also contains in-depth additional appendices on that should help the expert practitioner and/or those wanting to learn more. The appendices contain sample forms, letters (form of release and scope of service), checklists (insurance), survey specifications (measured survey and a Rights of Light customised survey detail accuracy table), and notices and agreements (RICS Model Mediation Settlement Agreement). This evening lecture will focus on the new 2nd edition.

 

 

 

Prof Enemark is one of the most eminent academic (Aalborg University) land professionals to have graced our global profession in recent years and for many will need no introduction. Director, the FIG Education Foundation, 1996‐2005. President, Danish Association of Chartered Surveyors 2003‐2006 (DdL), Vice‐President 1994 – 03. Chair, the Professional Committee of DdL, 1984‐1994. Most recent Prof Enemark has collaborated on the game changing ‘Fit for Purpose Land Administration’. Prof Enemark is the recipient of the 2016 RICS Michael Barrett award.
