Ordnance Survey (OS) is the national mapping agency of Great Britain and operates in the national interest. OS creates, maintains and disseminates geospatial and cartographic data and products which are high
quality, authoritative and to a consistent specification.
Through a team of around 300 surveyors and two aircraft that produce 10,000 updates per day, OS provides geospatial data products to government, businesses and the general public. OS data underpins much service delivery across the public, private and consumer
sectors of the UK economy.
Whilst its premium data is charged for, OS also provides a range of Open Data products that offer entry-level data free of charge for any use.
OS operates as a government-owned limited company.
RICS has been asked to help disseminate a YouGov survey regarding the use of Ordnance Survey products and services and the intrinsic value of the data to organisations and individuals. Do please send this on to any colleagues that you think
might be interested and answer the short survey at the url below.
