Dear Chris
A great idea. We should name and shame those advertisers who don't acknowledge applications and who then do not send a thank you with regrets to unsuccessful applicants.
I have found a great lack of simple common courtesy from a number of advertisers.

Dear all - a really interesting discussion. Thank-you.

Just to add a polite request for the attention of EE advertisers; if someone takes the time to make an application for an EE post, then I’d be really grateful if advertisers could take the time to inform individuals if they have been unsuccessful.

Best regards

Chris

I would like to go back to the first response to this call, which noted that yet again a UK university will only accept External Examiners with prior experience. I have spent the last two years trying to get an external examiner position with no luck. I have lots of management and quality assurance experience from work undertaken in my current institution, but just can’t seem to get my first external post.
