APOLOGIES FOR CROSS-POSTING

To mark its tenth anniversary in 2015, Evidence & Policy launched a new annual prize (1) in memory of Professor Carol Weiss, the journal’s first North American Editor and a pioneer in the field

The inaugural prize has been awarded to William Allen (Centre on Migration, Policy and Society, University of Oxford) for his paper Factors that impact how civil society organisations perceive evidenceThe panel felt it provided a novel contribution to the field and made impressive use of different literatures, social science theory and methods.  They were also impressed with the way the author handled the inter-disciplinarity of the field, particularly as a relative newcomer.

The panel also wished to acknowledge Amanda Cooper as the runner up: her paper was extremely well written and made a timely contribution to the literature on knowledge brokering.

William Allen will be speaking at a free seminar hosted by Evidence & Policy and the Department of Social Policy and Intervention at the University of Oxford on 30th November 2016 from 4pm until 6pm.  It will be chaired by Annette Boaz and followed by a wine reception provided by Policy Press.  Tickets are free but registration is necessary.
