You might look at Synote - http://www.synote.com/

Is anybody using it already? University of Southampton developed it – they’ve a lot of experience in accessibility.

Subject: Speech to text for lecture capture

Good morning all,

I’m interested to know if anyone has looked into speech to text solutions for lecture transcription please?

We have a student who is profoundly deaf and doesn’t benefit from audio improvement systems (radio aids etc) as he struggles to understand spoken language. He only really benefits from written notes.

I think this will be out with the limitations of Dragon NS - but I will test nevertheless. We will look to assign him a notetaker but I was curious to see if anyone has any suggestions.

Thanks in advance,

Stuart
