The new, revised version of BS 4971, which contains archive specific environmental standards, packaging standards and shelf equipment standards formerly in PD5454, is now available for public comment. If you wish to view it and make comments, go to: http://drafts.bsigroup.com/Home/Details/59098 EN 16893, the heritage collection building construction standard, which replaces all other aspects of 5454 is awaiting the standard national voting approval system operated by the European standards organisation CEN. EN 16983 went out for public comment last year in 2015 and the comments received have been reviewed and responded to as appropriate in the re-drafting. If the nations involved vote in favour of publication it will be available later this year.
