Applications are welcome for an Assistant Professorship in
Biostatistics within the Department of Biostatistics
and Medical Informatics, where medium of instruction is English.
Applicants should have strong research records, teaching ability and communications skills.
Applicants are expected to have PhD in Biostatistics,
or a related field.
The Department is newly founded and currently involves
one professor in Bioinformatics, one Assistant Professor in Biostatistics, 14 PhD students and 4 MSc students. It has attracted
over one million Euros through collaborative research projects with scientists from England, Italy and Japan. Current research
areas
include bioinformatics, machine learning, probability and statistics, epidemiology, and personalised medicine.
Applicants with special interest in clinical trials,
meta-analysis, casual inference, and environmental epidemiology are
particularly welcome.
Applicants are expected to carry out and publish
high-quality research in biostatistical methodology,
contribute to
collaborative research Programmes, and play a role in the teaching and
administrative
activities within the Medical School.
