Would be interested to hear also –
At UWE we start from a requirement that there will be a gender balance on the panel.
We are also encouraging members of various networks to do our R&S training and to be available to support on panels.
We are also getting as many people aware of unconscious bias as possible.
HOWEVER – it does prove difficult to get busy people to commit to be available for panels !

Subject: Composition of interview panels
Dear Colleagues,
A quick query for you all regarding interview panels: at your institutions do you reserve spaces on the interview panels for members with protected characteristics. If so, how do you overcome issues with logistics,
in regard to having limited staff of that protected characteristic not having to sit on disproportionate numbers of panels?
Many thanks for your help with this.
Best,
Mariam
