One of the things I loved best about Margaret was that her dignity never stood upon dignity--that is, she always chose kindness and providing joy to others first.  And I will always, always remember her cross-dressing Porlock skit with Arthur Kinney at Kalamazoo.  She was a luminary--a luminous soul.

What a year this has been for losing great Renaissance scholars! I just heard that Margaret Hannay has died. She will be in my heart forever. I can say no more, except that at last she is at peace.
