An academic institution requires an Interim Head of Technology Enhanced Learning for a 6 month period to deliver the following key points:
Key deliverables include:

*         Oversee day-to-day operations of the TEL team (4 members) to ensure continuity of existing services and systems, and maintain all internal and external stakeholder relationships.

*         Work closely with the Head of Library & Learning Resources (line manager), Pro-Provost - Education and Quality, and Senior Academic Managers to identify the organisation's long -term strategic objectives for adoption of Learning Technologies and advise on appropriate requirements to support these, including undertaking a successful recruitment for a permanent full-time Head of TEL to be launched within 2 months of starting the role.

*         Play a key role in the cross-institutional project to implement and transition to a new Student Records System by February 2017, including working with a third-party developer to ensure robust integration and to identify and implement an Assignment Submission solution within their Moodle-based VLE by January 2017.

*         Provide advice on use of technology in physical learning spaces within a cross-institutional "Classroom of the Future" project.
To be considered for this role you will need the following skills and experience:

*         Degree qualification in Blended Learning, Information Technology or related discipline or equivalent experience.

*         Demonstrated experience in Technology Enhanced Learning/eLearning within the HE sector.

*         Experience of working in an education environment in a senior leadership role.

*         Experience in content/rapid development tools e.g. Articulate, Captivate etc.

*         Experience in VLE management e.g. Moodle, Blackboard, Canvas.

*         Knowledge of educational theories, methodologies and techniques in relation to the use of technology.

*         A proven track record in delivering technology-based projects to time and meeting stakeholder expectations.

*         Understanding of software development techniques and processes, e.g. web development, software development cycle, testing etc.

*         Proven ability to effect change and develop and implement changes and processes.
