Afternoon all APOLOGIES FOR CROSS POSTING Are you a Systems Librarian looking for a contract job? We are working with a university based in the west of England to recruit a Systems Librarian & Resources Team Leader. The job is initially expected to last six months, although this may extend, and further opportunities may be available at the end of the project. As Systems Librarian & Resources Team Leader you will be responsible for overseeing the implementation of a new library management system, as well as the transfer of data from the old Aleph library management system to the new one. This will involve regular contact and close ties with the IT department, as well as with colleagues throughout the library service, to ensure the new system is properly implemented and appropriately tweaked to meet the needs of the service. Other challenges for the Systems Librarian & Resources Team Leader during this project will include the review and development of other systems (such as the library intranet and VLE), liaison with Research & Content Librarians to manage resource purchases (including accurate budgeting, forecasting), and oversight for the continuing move towards Ebooks and EResources. The Systems Librarian & Resources Team Leader will lead a team of five staff responsible for the operational management of and training on the library management system, as well as for the purchasing and development of library and information resources. You will develop and motivate the team, helping them deliver a first class library service. At a really exciting time of change, this job is a great opportunity to play an integral role in the development of the library service. While this job is being offered as a contract, at the end of the project there may be other longer-term opportunities. This job would suit an experienced librarian with a solid background in managing/administrating library management systems, as well as previous experience of staff management.
