Dear John,

The University of Buckingham set up a Foundation Department about three years ago. I believe their programmes were developed in-house. I am not in the Foundation Department (I'm in the Business School), so I don't have any details to share; however the department's contact details are available on our website so you may wish to approach them to request advice based on recent, and local, experience.

Best wishes,

Juliette Smeed

Subject: Exploring Foundation Years (Level 0)

Hi all

We are currently beginning a scoping project to explore possible structures and formats for a Level 0 Foundation Year, using a combination of common developmental modules and course specific project work.

I was wondering whether anyone has any experience of these and what they found most effective/useful about the approach taken in their institutions

Best wishes

John
