Dear colleagues,

the Institute for German Studies (IGS) at the University of Birmingham would like to invite you to its upcoming seminar in London. The event is part of the research project "(Not) Made in Germany? Imagining Germany from the Outside" and focuses on Polish perspectives on Germany, comprising three short presentations by researchers from University of Wroclaw and University of Birmingham, followed by a discussion.

"Polish Perspectives on Germany"

Professor Pawel Karolewski (University of Wroclaw): "A threatening hegemon or new rescuer of the EU: Polish perspectives on Germany"
Justyna Snoch (PhD candidate, University of Wroclaw): "The role of Germany in the EU’s image of normative power"
Maren Rohe (PhD candidate, University of Birmingham): "Studying country perceptions as narratives: Polish examples"

Discussant: Dr Katarzyna Zechenter (School of Slavonic and East European Studies, University College London)

WHEN? Wednesday, 14 September, 2-4 p.m.
WHERE? British Parliament, Palace of Westminster, Committee Room 9.

Please use the Cromwell Green entrance (no.8 on this map<https://www.parliament.uk/documents/facilities/maps/colmap.pdf>) to the Palace Building, allowing at least 20 minutes to get inside in case there is a queue at the security check - the event will start at 2 p.m. sharp. If you tell staff that you are heading to Committee Room 9, you will be pointed in the right direction. No ID or invitation is required at the door.
