Hi Helen,

Happy to chat if you want to drop me a line. Cragside, mentioned by Crispin, is in my portfolio and we are also in the process of transferring Ray Tye’s collections (mentioned in Sue Renault’s reply).

I vaguely remember that Cragside, NT house in Northumberland, has the original electric light fittings.

I’m not 100% but I vaguely remember the Science Museum having some kind of lighting technology display.

Hello all,

I was just wondering if anyone knows of /works in a museum or historic house using gas, oil or early electric lighting technologies either on a day-to-day basis or as a working exhibit? I'm trying to find out a bit more about the practicalities and Health and Safety issues etc. associated with using them in a public setting.

Any information or suggestions gratefully received.

Thanks

Helen
