Biology Week is an annual celebration of the biosciences with events for everyone around the UK and beyond. Reporting to the media manager, the intern’s duties will involve supporting Biology Week preparations and evaluation in September and October 2016.

The intern will gain valuable experience in media relations, event organisation and science communication. We are looking for someone with a positive attitude and a desire to take on a wide range of tasks. Experience of science communication (paid or voluntary) is an advantage, as is a biology degree.

 

Duties include:

       Write news articles for the website, newsletters and blogs

       Assist with media enquiries and writing press releases

       Help liaise with schools and universities involved in Biology Week

       Assist with the planning, promotion and running of Biology Week events

       Assist with development of citizen science activities


£9.15 per hour, 35 hrs per week

Interviews will take place w/c 15th August and we would like the successful applicant to start on Tuesday 6th September. The internship will finish on Friday 28th October 2016.
