Job opportunity – Head of Content and Partnerships at The Institute of Cancer Research, London
Hello all
This is a senior position and will require someone with substantial experience of leading teams, partnership work and project management, and a track record in writing and editing high-quality materials about science. The post holder will be responsible
for overseeing all the Communications directorate’s relationships with internal and external stakeholders, and for delivering excellent publications and digital projects on behalf of partners. The position will also have responsibility for a team including
the Internal Communications Manager and two science writers.
The post holder will have extensive experience of working with partners on joint projects, and the ability to navigate complex internal and external relationships. They will be adept at creating and editing publications and digital projects, and at communicating
about scientific subjects to a range of largely non-specialist audiences, including for marketing and fundraising purposes. We are looking for someone with exceptional written and verbal communication skills, who is likely to have experience in magazine journalism,
contract publishing or internal communications. You will need to be adept at managing a team, but equally willing to get stuck in with writing material where necessary. A degree in a science subject relevant to cancer research will be essential, and a postgraduate
qualification in journalism, marketing or science communication would be highly desirable.
