Chemical Sciences Division, Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (www.lbl.gov)

A postdoctoral position is available in the research group of Kevin Wilson at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (http://wilsonresearchgroup.lbl.gov/). This position will develop and use new experimental methods to measure heterogeneous and condensed phase free radical reactions in optically levitated and electrostatically trapped aqueous droplets using a novel combination of ultra-high resolution atmospheric pressure mass spectrometry and synchrotron-based (Advanced Light Source, www-als.lbl.gov/) X-ray spectroscopy.

Required Applicant skills: Strong background in physical chemistry, chemical kinetics, instrumentation development, atmospheric pressure ionization mass spectrometry and aerosol measurement techniques.

This position requires a solid background in physical chemistry and a Ph.D. in Chemistry or a related field. Additional skills include experience working in a research team environment; good oral and written communications; interpersonal skills; initiative; the ability to collaborate effectively on teams; creative/innovative thinking.
