Hi MCG-ers

I wondered whether anyone might be able to share any good practice re: using tablets (android ideally) for in-gallery interactives?

I'm interested in:

- Tech which is low cost and easy to source
- Software / apps which are easy to use/ train staff up on / low cost
- Software / apps which support narratives and can show images, video and audio when offline

I'd love to run a project in future which supports smaller museums to create their own interactives without having to commission bespoke tech - frankly something which is out of the reach of many of the small, volunteer run organisations I work with.

I know that John (http://johnsear.com/about/) has been doing some really simple projects using PowerPoint, and I'm already in contact with him, but wanted to put it out to the wider community. Any great apps out there that can be locked down to create fantastic kiosks? Any solutions that are relatively simple to teach a cohort of volunteers and non-specialist staff?

Thoughts and ideas greatly appreciated!
Sarah
