We’re currently reviewing our self-service procedures, and were wondering if anyone who use self-issue and/or self-return machines or kiosks would be willing to share some information:

- For borrowing, do your users just use their library card, or do they also have a PIN?

- For returning, do your users just scan their books, or do they also have to activate their accounts by presenting their cards, again – do they have to use a PIN?

- Do you offer print receipts for the transactions, or do you email a receipt?

Our users currently authenticate using cards and PINs to borrow, but just return their books; print receipts are available for both transactions.

I can summarise replies for the list if anyone else is interested.

Regards, Alexandra Talbot
