German studies at the University of Manchester would like to signal its participation in the 2016-17 round of the British Academy postdoctoral fellowship scheme. The fellowships will be available to those scholars who are within three years of having completed their PhD and enable outstanding early career researchers to complete a major research project at a UK host institution and increase their chances of building a successful academic career in the Humanities or Social Sciences. Full details and deadline will be available from the British Academy later this summer.

For those wishing to pursue an application through the School of Arts, Languages & Cultures at the University of Manchester, outline applications (up to 1000 words to include project aims, research programme, proposed outputs and researcher profile) are requested by the internal closing date of 1 September 2016. An internal selection procedure will then follow with successful applications going forward to be submitted to the scheme in early October.
