Dear GEM Members

I wanted to update you on the V&A’s exciting upcoming programme of Professional Development Courses beginning in September 2016. Taught by V&A staff, the courses focus on practical training and use V&A collections, best-practice, and current projects as case studies and examples. The short, intensive courses aim to provide the skills needed to work in today’s museums and galleries, and are for those who are already part of the heritage sector as well as those to aspire to be.

Topics we will be covering between September and January are:

§  Planning and Writing Your Interpretation

§  How to Organise an Exhibition

§  Handling Museum Objects

§  Creating Family Backpacks, Resources and Trails

§  Integrated Pest Management

§  Creating Digital Learning Programmes

§  Documentation Nightmares and Due Diligence

§  Museum Courier Training

§  Running a Residency Programme

Please find attached the brochure of all the upcoming Professional Development courses for further details. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact me or Malini Balluck ([log in to unmask]).

Many thanks

Christina
