Many thanks to all who replied and I’ve noted the responses. What I failed to mention was that the DNAPL was free phase tar. Not much you can really do with it other than pitch boats, make roads or cover a flat roof. I’m not sure that in
situ methods would work effectively; may reduce the dissolved phase plume but the bugs seem to be happy with that job. So as far as a SPR linkage goes, the barriers are the bacteria.
