You could also clip a signal generator to the pipe and trace any underground connections with a CAT scanner, assuming the underground pipes are steel.

Hi
I recently came across something similar in Adelaide, it ended as fence posts left in situ. However if in doubt maybe use a GPR to get a view of what lies beneath.
Good Luck

Subject: Unknown Pipe
Hi All
I visited a storage distribution warehouse last week and a pipe was noted in the corner of the car park adjacent to the road. We are currently awaiting drainage
plans etc but enquiries with the tenant indicated that there were no underground tanks or interceptors on site. There were no manholes covers or drainage nearby.
Has anyone come across anything similar elsewhere or know what it is?
Many thanks
Helen
