The Somme one hundred years on: the view from the archives of the National Army Museum

In the context of the 100 year commemoration of the battle of the Somme join us to hear Alastair Massie from the National Army Museum telling the story of the five month Somme battle using material from the museum.

Alastair Massie has worked at the National Army Museum for twenty-five years and is currently the Museum's Head of Research and Academic Access. He is the author of a number of books based on the Museum's archival holdings, the latest of which, 'Wives and Sweethearts: Love Letters sent during Wartime', was published by Simon & Schuster in paperback last year.
