Dear colleagues,

My question below should have been:

Has anyone come across marked TSH rises in iodine refractory patients with differentiated thyroid carcinoma treated with Tyrosine Kinase Inhibitors? This is under stable thyroxine replacement conditions.

Do TKI’s influence deiodinase activity?

Do TKI’s influence TRH-receptor signalling

Or do TKI’s possibly influence pituitary TSH-receptor signalling?

TKI’s are Thyrosine Kinase inhibitors, like Lenvatinib, Sorafenib and vandetanib. They block VEGFreceptor- , FGFreceptor-, PDGFreceptor-, RET and KIT signalling pathways and are used as targeted therapy for thyroid carcinoma.
